Manager, Financial Aid
(Full-Time) 

Purpose:
The purpose of the Manager, Financial Aid position is to assist the Director, Admissions & Financial Aid in the operation of the Financial Aid department. The Manager, Financial Aid will advise and counsel current and prospective students and families about financial aid, loans and alternative means of educational financing. He or she will make presentations during campus visit events and will be responsible for processing/ awarding internal, provincial and federal financial aid funds where applicable. The Manager, Financial Aid will analyze the distribution of financial aid packages and make strategy recommendations to the Director, Admissions and Financial Aid. He or she will also be responsible for streamlining department operations and improving customer service levels.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities include - assisting prospective students and families in making the decision to attend Tyndale, by providing them with information on internal and external financial aid resources; managing financial aid packages, analyzing reports on Tyndale’s financial aid distribution, recommending and implementing the financial aid strategy and developing the financial aid software.
 

Qualifications:
Required 
        ·     Undergraduate degree
  • Experience with office applications – spreadsheets, word processing, database, etc.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated basic accounting skills and business office experience
  • A high commitment to customer service
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated skills to efficiently organize and prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or Accounting
  • 2 – 3 years experience in a financial aid/finance role including management/supervisory experience
  • In depth knowledge of Ontario Student Assistance program and other government aid programs
  • Previous knowledge of financial aid software packaging
  • Multi-tasking abilities and ability to process high volumes of work with accuracy
