DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT: A private Christian K-12 schoolDIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT Palm Desert, CA – 2010 A private Christian K-12 school with 500 students is seeking a talented development professional to be responsible for the entire Development function. This position is responsible to assist the school in achieving it’s fundraising goals through creating and managing specific development programs including, major gifts, planned gifts, corporate sponsorship, foundations, annual events, volunteers, fund raisers, and grants. Vision is to build new campus with capacity for 1500 students on new 50 acre property. Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for a $40M annual fundraising goal to be accomplished over a three year period, to be derived through raising gifts of $5K-$100K. Steward existing pledge relationships. 2. Oversee the corporate sponsorship program including stewarding existing donors and creating new donor partnerships. 3. Manage the foundation efforts of the school, stewarding exiting donors and creating new foundation relations. 4. Work with CEO of school on developing a planned giving program. 5. Direct the fundraising component of the school’s annual events including committee development and corporate sponsorship. 6. Initiate and launch fund raising events, manage volunteer base, spearhead alumni participation and contributions. 7. Manage grant process for funds from foundations and corporations. 8. Act as a school ambassador in the community.Reporting to the CEO, successful candidates will possess excellent relational skills, ability to close major gifts, and a heart to serve donors and the school community. Candidates must fully embrace the mission of the school. A full compensation package and benefits program is in place including relocation allowance.
