REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree preferred.  College admissions experience preferred. 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The College Guidance Counselor works under the immediate supervision of the Head of Upper School.  The Counselor works with those staff members designated by the secondary head in developing and maintaining a guidance program that meets the needs of the students and parents, the requirements of the State and the desires of the administration. The Counselor works with Upper School students and parents in the college application and selection process. Responsibilities include assisting with college applications, letters of recommendation and financial aid applications, supporting the Registrar with the academic preparation and development of the students, providing academic counsel for students and parents, teaching college planning classes, establishing and maintaining good relationships with college admission personnel and planning and executing the annual college day program. Applicants should possess strong organizational skills, as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
