Mount Vernon Nazarene University : Asst Director of On-Campus Transfer Recruitment

MVNU seeks a qualified individual for the position of Assistant Director of On-Campus & Transfer Recruitment.  
 
The Assistant Director of On-Campus & Transfer Recruitment will, in collaboration with the senior staff, provide leadership to the Admissions Office in the absence of the Director in addition to the following direct responsibilities:

·Assisting in the execution of the university’s prospective student recruitment plan, including the coordination of campus-based initiatives, special programs, and professional meetings;

·Providing supervision and leadership to the overall Campus Visit and Tour Program;

·Managing Admissions presence in on-campus liaison and hosting events;

·Supervising, training and equipping student workers within the context of the Admissions student worker program;

·Overall responsibility for the recruitment and enrollment of transfers and re-admits for the upcoming fall and spring terms;

·Provide transcript pre-evaluations when traveling and during on-campus visits as needed;

·Work closely with the Student Financial Services, Registrar’s, Enrollment Events offices to provide accurate information concerning all aspects of the financial aid and registration/confirmation processes;

·Following up on prospective transfer students with phone calls, notes, email, and other appropriate correspondence;

·Assist the University Registrar in developing articulation agreements with our primary feeder community colleges;

·Representing Mount Vernon Nazarene University in community colleges, college fairs, churches, and various other events;

·Effectively communicating the academic programs of Mount Vernon Nazarene University to prospective students, community college contacts, alumni, pastors, and other relevant audiences;

·Evaluating applicant files for the recommendation of admissions decisions;

·Coordinate the Admissions live chat program with student and full-time staff;

·Coordinate the purchase of giveaways on and off campus events;

·Other duties, projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Admissions.


Qualifications required:
·Evidence of active church involvement and an evangelical Statement of Faith;

·Bachelor’s degree required;

·At least four years of experience in Admissions, Ministry, Education, Marketing, Sales, Recruitment or other related field.

·Commitment to and an ability to articulate the mission and vision of Mount Vernon Nazarene University and value of Christian higher education within the broader educational marketplace;

·Ability to travel for extended periods and to work hours outside of the traditional work day;

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

·Demonstrated organizational self-initiated planning skills, with a high level of personal integrity and professionalism;  

·Ability and desire to work with culturally diverse populations;

·An appropriate competence and comfort level with typical office computer software;

·A valid driver’s license and ability to transport and set up displays and materials;

·Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
