Mark A. Vermilion is an Assistant Professor of Public Relations at Lee University. Before coming to Lee, he started academic public-relations programs at Taylor University and Indiana Wesleyan University. Mark is also a writer and popular speaker. He speaks to groups of all sizes and makeup at conferences, festivals, retreats, services, chapel services, etc. He has co-written or ghost-written four books, including NFL kicker David Akers’ new book, Winning in Spite Of, due out later this year.
Mark is Founder and CEO of Amplify Consulting, a strategic-planning, public-relations, social-media and event-planning firm that focuses primarily on nonprofit ministry organizations. In 2015, Amplify has served local, regional, national and international nonprofit clients in 24 states and overseas. He previously served as the CEO of Ichthus Ministries, Wilmore, Kentucky, where he produced large music events and concert tours. He still consults with festivals and tour promoters. He also served as Executive Vice President for Forge (formerly Kingdom Building Ministries), Aurora, Colorado.
Mark and his wife, Katrina, have five children and two dogs who think they’re children. His hobbies are football, basketball, music and photography.

Emotional Intelligence (EI) - During these two sessions we will discuss what emotional intelligence is and why it's so important to our professional lives. We will look in depth at the five elements which include: self-awareness, others-awareness, self-expression, self-regulation and empathy.
Growing from the Inside-Out: This session will uncover why lifelong personal and professional growth is so important. We will look at the seven keys to personal and professional growth. We each have failures and we will talk about how to learn from these.
The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has a wonderful conference center (Legacy Hotel & Conferences) with housing available at a discounted rate of $85 per suite. These limited number of suites will be available for December 7th and/or December 8th. Suites are a 2 room arrangement with a king or queen bed in one room and a sofa bed in the other with one bathroom. Kuerig Coffee pot, refrigerator, and all other standard hotel amenities as well as use of the fitness center and pool, coffee 24/7 in the beautiful lobby are included.
Please add the optional housing ticket to your registration if you would like to reserve one of these rooms--housing deadline is November 22nd. The cost is $85 per night for one individual or $42.50 if the room is shared. Housing cancellations after November 22nd are non-refundable.
Day Conference events do have a minimum participation requirements. If participant requirements are not met, events may be cancelled or rescheduled. Please make travel plans accordingly.
