Reaching out to students across the globe is what 10 colleges and universities did November 8th-21st as they joined NACCAP on the Asia College Tour.

The trip included visits to Morrison Academy in Taiwan, Christian Academy of Japan, Faith Academy in the Philippines, Grace International School in Thailand and Dalat School in Penang, Malaysia.

Colleges and universities that joined NACCAP were Huntington University, Biola University, Cal-Baptist University, Fresno Pacific University, Gordon College, Judson College, La Sierra University, Moody Bible Institute, Nyack College and University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

This is a photo blog of the journey.

First Stop Morrison Academy in T’ai-chung, Taiwan
The grounds of Morrison Academy. We met with parents and students our first night there and held a college fair and breakout sessions the following day.
Bethany Ilsley, Nyack College, Carrie Stockton, Biola University, Shannon Wilson, Huntington University, NACCAP, Judy DeRolf, Judson College and Silvio Vazquez, Gordon College enjoy dinner at the ‘Shack’ a great little Chinese restaurant enjoyed by many Morrison Academy staff.
Dinner at a great little spot across from Morrison, Peter Muller and his wife Janet came along.
Michelle Cracker, Counseling Center Administrative Assistant at Morrison had dinner with us as well.
There seemed to be a Starbucks on every corner in Asia, and we took advantage of that every time we saw one. This one was a few blocks from Morrison Academy.
In Tokyo, Japan, Mt. Fuji was visible just down the street from CAJ (Christian Academy of Japan). During out time at CAJ, we were able to worship on a Sunday morning with our host families. Although many of us attended the service on CAJ’s campus, a few got to experience church in Japanese with our host families.
During our free day in Japan Beth Dupree, counselor at CAJ, took us sightseeing and shopping in Tokyo. Bethany Ilsley, Nyack College, Silvio Vasquez, Gordon College and Carrie Stockton, Biola University, look ready to see the sights of Tokyo.
Students at CAJ gather information about various colleges and universities during the college fair. Many students were getting a jump start on their college search.
Another CAJ student learns more about Biola University from Carrie Stockton. Many students took advantage of the sessions offered by the college representatives to help them planning for college.
Doreen Ewert, Fresno Pacific University, Carrie Stockton, Biola University, Shannon Wilson, Huntington University, Silvio Vazquez, Gordon College and NACCAP enjoy one last stop at a Starbucks in Tokyo after a day of sightseeing.
“We couldn’t leave Japan without eating some Sushi!” says Elizabeth Tanaka from University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Elizabeth had spent many years in Japan was excited to return for this trip.
Faith Academy in the Philippines would soon be celebrating 50 years of service.
After sitting in on session lead by the college recruiters, students had another opportunity to interact with various colleges at the college fair.
After a long day of travel and gathering luggage from out plane, Silvio Vazquez, Gordon College, Doreen Ewert, Fresno Pacific University, Shannon Wilson, Huntington University, NACCAP, Bethany Ilsley, Nyack College, Annette Moy, Moody Bible Institute, and Carrie Stockton, Biola University were able to spend one night in Bangkok, Thailand before heading to meet students at Grace International School, Chiang Mai Thailand the following morning.
Grace International School, Chiang Mai Thailand gave us student guided tours. “It was great to see the school though the students eyes,” says Carrie Stockton, Biola University
Annette Moy, Moody Bible Institute and Jamie Bird, representing California Baptist University took advantage of some down time next to the pool at Grace International School.
Grace International School even had a banner waiting for us to announce our college fair outside their building.
Before leaving Thailand, we took an opportunity to visit Maesa Elephant camp. Shannon Wilson, Huntington University and Carrie Stockton take a second to strike a pose with their elephant.
Geisa Mello, La Sierra University, Annette Moy, Moody Bible Institute, Elizabeth Tanaka, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Doreen Ewert, Fresno Pacific University enjoyed lunch at a butterfly farm before heading to the airport for a flight to Malaysia.
There were beautiful orchid plants all over Chiang Mai for the International Flower Festival
This was the last view of Thailand before we left for Malaysia. Who knew it would be the last time we see our luggage for a while too.
We waited and waited for our luggage at the airport in Penang, Malaysia…but it didn’t make the connecting flight.
We found ways to occupy our time while we waited for our luggage. Since it was a Sunday, we had a free day to explore Penang before meeting with students the next day at Dalat International School.
We also went shopping at the night market in Malaysia, here Geisa Mello, La Sierra University, Annette Moy, Moody Bible Institute and Shannon Wilson, Huntington University show off some of the things they purchased.
One last college fair at Dalat School in Penang, Malaysia. Jamie Bird, California Baptist University and Geisa Mello show off their college material before meeting with students at the fair.
Bethany Ilsley, Nyack College and Elizabeth Tanaka, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor enjoyed some final views of Malaysia and watched a storm roll in from off in the distance.
Malaysia gave us some stunning views
At our final dinner, we all reflected on the trip and the bonds we have build with each other and the wonderful contacts we had made with students, parents and our host schools.
Those on the trip pack up one last time to depart for home.
